Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT) Convention - Lake County Federation of Teachers (LCFT) Local 504 Delegates Election

Nominations are now being accepted for delegates to the Illinois Federation of Teachers Convention that will convene at the Hyatt Regency Rosemont on October 17-19, 2025. All LCFT Local 504 members in good standing are eligible to be nominated as delegates to this convention. Including the seven (7) Officers of Local 504 who are constitutionally required to attend the IFT Convention, the number of delegates to be elected to this convention will be up to forty-one (41). Ballots will be counted, and candidates will be ranked by the number of ballots received.

Allowing for the seven (7) Officers, the forty-one (41) candidates with the most votes will be declared delegates. The remaining candidates will be declared alternate delegates; and should any delegate notify the Local of an inability to fulfill the duties of a delegate, these alternate delegates will be selected in rank order of votes received to serve in place of the delegate who is unable to serve.

Delegates who attend the IFT Convention in October 2025 will be fully funded.

Nominations may be submitted via email to Juli Kowalski and the Election Committee at local504elections@gmail.com (include your name and Council) on or before March 18, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. Nominees will receive a written or electronic acknowledgment of receipt.

Voting will take place via secret ballot using EZ Vote. Members without an email on file with Local 504 can vote via paper ballot at the LCFT Local 504 offices during normal business hours.
