For AFT retirees and others receiving Medicare, assistance in figuring out which Medicare Part D plan you should choose is available at www.medicareinteractive.org/teachers.
The “Medicare Interactive Counselor” is being made available to members by the AFT and the AFT-affiliated New York State United Teachers.
Because Medicare private drug plan (Part D) costs change every year, now is the time to review Medicare drug coverage options for 2010. Knowing the new rates can help Medicare recipients avoid surprise charges.
To learn more about the costs and coverage under Medicare Part D, or to find out how to qualify for extra help or a Medicare savings program, which will help pay for Medicare-related costs, log on to the Medicare Interactive Counselor at www.medicareinteractive.org/teachers. Medicare Interactive is a resource provided by the Medicare Rights Center, the largest independent source of health care information and assistance in the United States for people with Medicare.
